Mouritz description:
Subtitled ‘A complete training course on audio tape for horse and rider based on the Alexander Technique’ these 4 cassette tapes by Joni Bentley are intended to be used with a walkman while riding. It contains one introductory talk on the Technique and 7 practical lessons of which the first covers semi-supine. The remaining six lessons aim at developing ‘stretching, straightening, and collection,’ using visualisation as well as directions. Some lesson titles are: ‘Developing primary control and rein contact,’ ‘Developing sensitive leg aids and contact’ and ‘Developing ease of bend.’ Previous Alexander experience is not necessary, but it is suggested that an observer can be helpful.
