Mouritz description:
Embryological (and later) growth and differentiation occur in a graded way along the antero-posterior axis. The gradient theory, first described by Boveri and C. M. Child, is here linked with George E. Coghill's and F. M. Alexander's discoveries. Rugg-Gunn developed his ideas and later wrote an MS for a book which, however, was never published. This was the first F. Matthias Alexander Memorial Lecture.
